Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs on Wednesday recommended for quick implementation of a memorial monument’s construction at Kalurghat radio station in the port city aiming to protect the memory of the Liberation War.
The recommendation came in a meeting of the legislative committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with Committee Chairman Shahjahan Khan in the chair.
Other committee members Rajiuddin Ahmed, Major (retd) Rafiqul Islam and Waresat Hossen Belal participated in the meeting, reports BSS.
The JS committee also has discussed on freedom fighters complex building construction, booklet printing containing privileges of the freedom fighters and project implementation on the recovered land in Kakrail.
The committee has recommended for enhance supervision by the concerned ministry on the specialized hospitals which are being scheduled for providing medical treatment services to the freedom fighters.
Additional Secretary of the Liberation War Affairs Ministry, different organisations chief and concerned ministry and parliament secretariat officials, among others, attended the meeting.
