A meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Land has recommended to intensify the recovery of property at Bhawal Estate.
Chairman of the committee Md. MakbulHossain presided over the meeting. Other members of the committee Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, Manoranjal Sheel Gopal, Md. Shahjahan Mia, Md. AnwarulAzim (Anar), Nesar Ahmed, Umme Fatema Nazma Begum and Md. Aminul Islam attended the meeting.
The meeting also reviewed the minutes of the 8th meeting of the committee and the progress of the implementation of the decision of the 7th meeting.
The committee recommended for approval of the administration of the municipal land offices of the districts and upazilas operating without the administrative approval of the country.
It was also recommended to identify the government and semi-government khas land in each district and upazila and take necessary steps to recover the under-occupied properties. Senior Secretary of the Land Ministry, Chairman of the Land Appeal Board, Chairman of the Land Reform Board, Director General of the Department of Land Records and Survey and senior officials of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat, among others, were present.
