JS body for integration of madrasa students with IT

The parliamentary standing committee on education ministry recommended integrating the madrasa students and teachers with modern information technology (IT) through the proper use of computers.
The recommendation was made on Thursday at the 2nd meeting of the committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with the committee Chairman M Afsarul Amin in the chair.
Committee members Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, M Abdul Quddus, Mohammad Hassan Mahmud, M Salim Uddin, Golam Mostafa, SM Abul Kalam Azad, M Mamunur Rashid and Selina Aktar Banu took part in the meeting, said a JS release.
The meeting was informed that IT is currently being used in all educational institutions. All institutions have been asked to conduct their activities through the digital system.
The meeting discussed about the irregularities and corruption in University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC) and recommended sending the inquiry of report of University Grants Commission (UGC) on the issue to the education ministry.
It recommended appointing an administrator at USTC, if it fails to resolve irregularities within the timeframe to be fixed by the UGC.
