Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry on Wednesday recommended offering incentives for overseas workers on sending their remittances through the legal channel.
The recommendation was made at a meeting of the committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) with its Chairman Nurul Mahmud Humayun in the chair, an official release said.
Other members of the committee Whip Md Shahab Uddin and Mahmud-us-Samad attended the meeting. Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam B.Sc. also was present at the meeting.
The committee also recommended setting up 50 Technical Training Centres (TTC) under the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) in first phase. It suggested the ministry to take all necessary measures to send skilled manpower abroad instead of unskilled workforce to increase the flow of remittances.
