Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence Ministry on Wednesday held a meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban in Dhaka with its Chairman Major General Mohammad Shubid Ali Bhuiyan (retd) in the chair.
The meeting discussed in details the action plans taken to modernize the Bangladesh Navy, said a press release.
The committee recommended time befitting and appropriate measures to be taken for the smooth implementation of the action plans regarding the modernization.
Progress of the decisions taken in the previous meeting also reviewed in the meeting, the release added, reports BSS.
The overall activities of Bangladesh Armament Factory were discussed and the participants of the meeting hoped that the development activities of the organisation would continue.
The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces-Army, Navy and Air Force, Commandants of Bangladesh Arms Factory and concerned senior officials of the Parliament Secretariat.
