Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce in its sixth meeting decided to hold meeting with the daily commodity importers at the ministry.
It decided to hold the meeting for determining the present demand of the daily commodities, current price, and demand for next time, said an official press release.
The meeting held on Sunday had an elaborate discussion on the test report of Bangladesh Tariff Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2019 and overall activities of Consumer Rights Protection Department, Tea Board and Chief Controller of Imports and Exports.
Committee chairman Tofail Ahmed chaired the meeting.
Committee members Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, Yusuf Abdullah Harun, Mohammad Hasan Imam Khan, Selim Altaf George and Sultana Nadira were also present at the meeting.
Commerce secretary, Tariff Commission chairman and senior JS Secretariat officials also joined the meeting.
