Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Water Resources at its 14th meeting on Thursday recommended gearing up the ongoing dredging of the silted rivers.
Committee Chairman Ramesh Chandra Sen presided over the meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
The committee members State Minister for Water Resources Muhammad Nazrul Islam, AKM Fazlul Haque, M Faridul Haque Khan, Rejwan Ahmed Toufiq, and Selina Jahan Lita attended the meeting, said an official release.
The meeting recommended taking necessary measures for repairing various damaged infrastructures of Bangladesh Water Development Board. Secretary and senior officials of the Water Resources Ministry and officials of the parliament secretariat were present.
