JS body for fuel efficient burners for Rohingyas to protect environment

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Environment and Forests Ministry recommended taking necessary steps for using fuel efficient burners to prevent environment disaster following the arrival of the Rohingya people.
The committee made the recommendation at its 37th meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban on the 10th instant with committee Chairman Mohammad Hasan Mahmud in the chair, said an official release here.
The committee suggested to plant trees to protect environment in areas to be vacant after the departure of the Rohingya people.
The meeting also discussed the initiatives taken by the ministry to protect the Cox’s Bazar sea Beach and the environment of Saint Martin Island and the upcoming United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the release added.
Committee members Deputy Minister for Environment and Forests Abdullha Al Islam Jakob, Nabi Newaj, Md Golam Rabbani, Md Yahhia Chowdhury, Tipu Sultan and Md Yeasin Ali, and senior officials of the ministry and the Jatiya Sangsad were present in the meeting.
