The parliamentary standing committee on Railways Ministry recommended for increasing the number of trains in the northern region to enhance the railway service for the passengers.
The committee made the recommendation on Thursday at its 15th meeting at Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with its chairman ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury in the chair.
Committee members Railways Minister Mohammad Mujibul Haque, M Moslem Uddin, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, M Ali Ajgar, Muhammad Mizanur Rahman, M Sirajul Islam Mollah, Mohammad Noman and Yasin Ali attended the meeting.
The committee decided to visit different railway stations and recommended to establish commercial buildings under the ministry.
It also suggested to recover the lands of Khulna Railways which were illegally grabbed and increase the number of tickets in the region.
