JS body for digitizing land records

Parliamentary standing committee on Ministry of Land at its 15th meeting yesterday recommended taking an initiative to computerize the land records like “RS and Khatian” in all the districts across the country in phases.
Chaired by M Rezaul Karim Hira, the meeting was attended by Mir Shawkat Hossain Badsha, Jahanara Begum Surma and Gazi MM Amzad Hossain Milon, among others, an official release said.
Report on implementation and development of the decisions taken in the earlier meeting was placed at the meeting, which was held at Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban here.
The meeting also recommended the ministry to take an initiative to settle issues regarding fixing price in case of registration of lands, stopping tax evasion, and monitoring the activities of sub-registers through mutual discussion with the Law Ministry.
Development of a project tiled “Strengthening Access to Land and Property Rights for all Citizens of Bangladesh” was discussed in detail at the meeting.
