The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways Ministry at a meeting here on Wednesday discussed the latest progress of implementation of Chittagong-CUET (Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology) Rail Project and a comprehensive report on purchasing machinery parts of OTM and LTM of BISIC and some other institutions.
The committee meeting was informed that all out measures were taken for developing clinic system in railways as per the model of developed countries.
The committee in its 16th meeting also formed a development monitoring committee to oversee the recent progress of the “train toilet waste management” in railways.
Committee Chairman ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury presided over the meeting. The committee also took a decision to inspect the proposed railway track from Khulna to Mongla and Khulna and Darshana rail stations.
The meeting recommended taking necessary measures to construct multi-storied commercial buildings on railways land in Dhaka and Chittagong.
Committee members – Railways Minister Mohammad Mujibul Haque, Mohammad Moslem Uddin, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Mohammad Ali Asgor, M Sirajul Islam Molla, Mohammad Noman and Fatema Zohra Rani, and acting secretary of the railways ministry and concerned officials were also present in the meeting.
