The parliamentary standing committee on religious affairs ministry suggested taking necessary measures to take integrated plans for the next Hajj based on past experiences. The JS body in its 38th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Wednesday observed that the authorities concerned should take comprehensive measures before the Hajj in the next year as a total of 139 pilgrims died and were buried in Saudi Arabia this year.
With committee president Bazlul Haque Haroon in the chair, the parliamentary watchdog discussed the implementation report of the decisions taken in the 37th meeting in a detailed way, said a release here. Ministry of Religious Affairs Secretary Anisur Rahman, Committee member Syed Nazibul Bashar Maizvandary, Md Mokbul Hossain, Habibur Rahman Mollah, A K M A Awal (Saydur Rahman) and Mohammed Amir Hossain, and officials concerned of the ministry, directorate and Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat, among others, were present at the meeting.
