The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Undertaking on Wednesday recommended to take necessary steps for stopping riverbank erosion in Shariatpur district.The recommendation came at a meeting of the committee with its Chairman Shawkat Ali in the chair, an official release said. Members of the committee-Md Abdul Wadud and Abdur Rauf- attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the committee discussed the overall activities of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) and the current situation of riverbank erosion.
