The Parliamentary Standing Committee on
Ministry for Labour and Employment recommended building dormitories for garment workers in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and implementation of law formulated by the labour ministry for the transport workers.
The recommendations were made on Tuesday at the 6th meeting of the committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman Mannujan Sufian presiding.
Committee members State Minister for Labour and Employment M Mujibul Haq, M Israfil Alam, Anowarul Abedin Khan, Chhabi Biswas, Shirin Akhtar, M Ruhul Amin and M Rezaul Haq Chowdhury attended the meeting.
The meeting held discussions on the losses incurred by the workers and owners due to the recent hartal and blockade.
