JS body for bringing back Bangabandhu’s fugitive killers

Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs discussed the ongoing steps for bringing back the fugitive killers of Bangabandhu to the country.
The committee discussed the matter at its 18th meeting held on Wednesday at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with Committee Chairperson Dr Dipu Moni in the chair, said an official release.The committee also recommended for continuing diplomatic efforts to bring those fugitive killers back home.
The JS committee asked the foreign ministry to request the government of those countries, where the identified killers are now staying, to keep the fugitives under imprisonment to stop their free movement.
Committee members Foreign Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali, State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam, Muhammad Faruque Khan, Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Md Sohrab Uddin and Selim Uddin, among others, attended the meeting.The parliamentary committee also dwelt on repatriation of the Rohingyas who were forcibly displaced from Myanmar.
It expressed satisfaction over successful diplomatic campaign made by the government on the Rohingya issue world-wide to draw support for Bangladesh, it said. The diplomatic campaign, the committee said, has brought about a positive change in the mindset of Russia and China, the release added.
