Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Assurance recommended for taking action against drug abusers aimed at saving the young generation from the curse of addiction.
The recommendation came at the 28th meeting of the committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Sunday with chairman of the committee Kazi Keramat Ali in the chair, said a press release.
The meeting also recommended for taking necessary legal action against government employees if they are found involvement with drug trafficking.
The committee expressed concern over the addiction to drug by the younger generation and increase of drug trafficking.
Committee members Whip M Shahiduzzaman Sarkar, M Abdul Majid Khan, MP, and Mir Mustaq Ahmed Robi, MP attended the meeting.
Home secretary, additional IGP and other senior officials were also present.
