Parliamentary standing committee on Ministry of Education on Tuesday held its 13th meeting at Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban, with Md Afsarul Amin in the chair.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, Md Abdul Quddus, Md Chholim Uddin Tarafder, Gholam Mostafa, SM Abul Kalam Azad, Md Mamunur Rashid and Selina Akter Banu attended the meeting, among others.
The committee discussed matters like fake certificates of teachers, time scale forgery and the matters relating to appointment of teachers at Honours and Masters level under Monthly Pay Order (MPO) facility, in details.
With the aim of managing the activities of private universities properly, the committee also proposed the five-member committee to scrutinize the “Private University Act” and produce its report within next two-month.
Decision has been taken to send letter to Ministry of Finance for allocating fund for the inclusion of the teachers appointed at Honours and Masters level under MPO facility.
