Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry yesterday held its 11th meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban here with its chairman Abdul Matin Khasru, MP, in the chair.
The committee discussed ‘Adalat Kartik Tathiya Projukti Bebohar Bill 2020’ (Court’s IT use Bill 2020) in detail, an official release said.
Law Minister Anisul Huq at the meeting narrated backdrop of floating the bill due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, field of application of the bill, its limitations, similarity with systems introduced by other countries and its necessity.
The committee proposed scrutinizing the bill precisely and finalizing report on it to present before the House.
Committee members Mostafizur Rahman, Md Abdul Mazid Khan, Md Shahiduzzaman Sarker, Shamim Haider Patwari, Gloria Jharna Sarker, Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Secretary Naren Das, Law and Justice Division Secretary Md Golam Sarwar, Supreme Court Registrar General Md Ali Akbar and other senior officials of the ministry and parliament secretariat were also present the meeting, among others.
