The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Commerce Ministry on Sunday recommended strengthening the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) and ensuring the quality its items.
The parliamentary body at the third meeting of the committee held at the Parliament Secretariat also suggested proper implementation of the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009.
Held with its chairman Prof Ali Ashraf in the chair, the meeting discussed the
progress in implementation of the consumer rights laws and the measures taken to protect consumer rights.
The activities of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) also came up for discussions at the meeting.
Committee members Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, Enamul Haque, Waresat Hussain Belal, AKM Bahauddin, Sanowar Hossain and Monzurul Islam Liton joined the meeting.
