JS bodies to address tortures of female workers abroad

Staff Reporter:On the bid to find out ways to stop tortures of Bangladeshi female workers abroad the Parliamentary bodies will discuss the matter soon.
The parliamentary standing committee on foreign affairs on Sunday made the decision at a meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
The meeting sources said that the parliamentary standing committee on home, foreign affairs and expatriate welfare and overseas employment will hold joint meeting to discuss torture incidents and sexual harassment against Bangladeshi female migrants in different countries.
Ruling Awami League MP and chief of the parliamentary committe Col (retd) Faruk Khan chaired the meeting.
Committee members AK Abdul Momen, Shahriar Alam, Nurul Islam Nahid, Golam Faruk Khandaker Prince, Kazi Nabil Ahmed, among others were present at the meeting.
The meeting decided that the parliamentary standing committee on foreign affairs and expatriate welfare will hold the joint meeting to prepare recommendations on how to stop such repression.
