The Joyjatra Premier League (JPL) School Cricket begins today at the Indira Road Cricket Academy Ground.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder will open the cricket meet as the chief guest. Chairman of Media Committee of BCB Md Jalal Yunus, former captain of Bangladesh National Cricket team Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, Managing Director of East-Asia Group & Bangla Tissue Shahidul Islam, noted industrialist Imtiaz Sultan Johny, Senior Additional Director of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn will be with him as special guests.
Chairman of the Tournament Committee Mir Motahar Hossain will be present at the time.
Chairperson of Joyjatra Foundation Helena Jahangir will preside over the inaugural ceremony.
A total of eight schools of Dhaka City are taking part in the six-a-side cricket tournament.
They are: Rajdhani High School, BAF Shaheen School, Holy Crescent International School, Mirpur Bangla School, Metropolitan School, National Model School, Dhaka Tutorial School and Cordova International School.
The champions will be awarded Tk 50, 000 and a trophy while the runners-up will be given Tk 25,000 and a trophy.
