JP MP Hannan, 3 others sent to jail

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 yesterday sent MA Hannan, Jatiya Party lawmaker from Mymensingh-7, and three others to jail as police produced them before the court yesterday noon.
The three other accused are Md Rafik Sazzad, 62, Khandaker Golam Rabbani, 63, and Mizanur Rahman Mintu, 63.
These four along with Md Hormuz Ali, 73, were arrested on October 1, hours after the tribunal had issued warrants against eight of them. But Hormuz got injured in a road accident as police were bringing him from Mymensingh to Dhaka.
He is now in Dhaka Medical College Hospital under the custody of police. Prosecutor Sultan Mahmud Simon told the tribunal that the investigation agency commenced their probe against them on July 28 and need three more months to finish it.
After hearing the prosecutor, the tribunal asked the accused to engage lawyers to defend them before the court and sent them to jail. It also set December 17 for further hearing in the matter.
