JP in devastating situation: Bidisha

Bidisha Ershad, the ex-wife of Hussain Muhammad Ershad, commented that the current situation of Jatiya Party (JP) is devastating. She made the remark while visiting the tomb of Hussain Muhammad Ershad at Rangpur Pallinibas on Monday. Ershad’s son Shahta Jarab Eric Ershad was present at the time.
 She said the ceremony on the occasion of Ershad’s birthday was not done as it should have been. We are observing with month-long program. The dream of the founder of the Jatiya Party was on the verge of destruction. Earlier I also said that JP in life support. Even today, the condition of the party is ruined.
She vowed to renovate JP, saying “we all want to rebuild JP in a united way.” I have started working towards that goal. I am working in the field. I am coming here to visit the grave with my son. Regarding the current leadership, she said she did not feel the need for an alliance.
She informed, ‘I will participate in the next election if the people of Rangpur want. If the grassroots leaders want me to be united, I will participate in the vote. I am ready if my leadership is accepted by the common people’.
Kazi Mamunur Rashid, chairman of the Hussain Muhammad Ershad Trust, said plans have been made to build a shrine to Pallibandhu here. Mosques and madrasas will be built here. The hospital here will be improved further. The work of making these will start very soon.
Leaders and activists of different levels of JP were present at that time. After visiting the grave, a cake was cut on the occasion of Ershad’s birthday.
