Mahmudul Hasan Joy of Bangladesh made his maiden century in Test Cricket on Saturday. Mahmudul Hasan Joy notched up 137 against South Africa on Saturday. Joy hit 15 fours and two sixers in his 326-ball innings. Opener Joy resumed his first innings with the over-night score of 44 against South Africa in the first Test at Kingsmead in Durban of South Africa.
Joy and Liton Das put on together 82 runs for the sixth wicket partnership before Liton Das was bowled out by Lizard Williams when Bangladesh’s score was 283 for the loss of six wickets.
Liton Das knocked a sedate 41 using 92 deliveries with six fours.
After Liton’s dismissal, Joy and Yasir Ali contributed together 33 runs in the seventh wicket stand before Yasir Ali was run out by a joint-effort of wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne when Bangladesh’s total was 216 for the loss of seven wickets.
After Yasir Ali’s departure, Joy and Mehidy Hasan Miraz contributed together 51 runs for the eighth wicket partnership before Miraz caught at the slip by Simon Harmer off Wiaan Mulder when Bangladesh’s score was 267 runs for the loss of eight wickets. After Miraz’s dismissal, Khaled Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain were dismissed for zero.
When Joy returned to the pavilion Bangladesh’s score was 298 for the loss of all.
Joy played only three Test matches. He scored 221 runs. Earlier, The 21-year opener’s highest score was 78. He had a half-century before this Test.
