Local lawmaker and district Awami League President Kujendra Lal Tripura urged the journalists to work sincerely to make permanent peace in the district and build up a ‘Positive Khagrachhari’.
Journalists can play a vital role to ensure development in all stages and be model as peacemaker, he said, adding that government has a plan to extend all-out assistant in this regard.
He was addressing the concluding programme of three-day-long basic training course for the local Journalists on Friday as chief guest.
Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) organised the programme presided over by Khagrachari Press Club President Jiten Barua.
Terming journalist as mirror, Kujendra Lal Tripura said, “You would display all sorts of news and draw kind attention of the government to build up a ‘Positive Khagrachhari.
Chairman of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Chittagong University Ali Ar Raji, Director (Study and Training) of PIB Md Jahangir Hossain, Director (Media) of Uttara University Rahman Mustafiz and PIB Trainer Jilhas Uddin Nipun and Khandakar Pervez Uddin attended the training course as resource persons.
About 35 journalists of print and electronics media took part in the training course.
