Journalist organizations will stage rallies throughout the country on Wednesday to press home their demand for constituting the 9th wage board.
As part of central programme, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) will stage a rally in front of Jatiya Press Club at 11am on January 18, said a BFUJ press release on Sunday, signed by its Secretary General Omar Faruque.
Journalist leaders said the Information Ministry is making dillydally in forming the ninth wage-board.
Though an assurance was given by the authority concerned that the wage board would be announced by December 31 last, it is yet to be declared, the release said.
It said as the wage board has not been announced yet, the journalists will have to take to streets again. “We will stage rallies across the country on Wednesday,” it said.
Leaders of BFUJ have requested all concerned to join the rallies.
