Begum Samsunnahar of village Chingra under Dumuria thana in Khulna and mother of Md. Sahidul Islam, Sports Editor of The New Nation died on Friday at 11:30 am. She was 68. She had been suffering from cancer for long.
She left behind five sons, two daughters, a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.
She was buried at her family graveyard after Namaz-e-Janaza.
Bangladesh Sports Journalist Association, Bangladesh Sports Press Association and Bangladesh Sports Journalist’s Community in separate messages expressed deep shock at the death of Samsunnahar.
They also prayed for eternal peace of her departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
