Journalists of different media houses in Chattogram yesterday demanded payment of all wages, festival allowance and arrears of dearness allowance by next Monday.
Journalist leaders also warned to go for work abstention in all media houses from Monday evening if their demands are not met within the stipulated time. The announcement came in a protest rally held in front of Chattogram Press Club under the auspicious of Chattogram Union of Journalists (CUJ).
Presided over by Senior Vice President of CUJ Mainuddin Dulal the protest rally was addressed, among others, by Vice President of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Reaz Haider Chowdhury, former BFUJ vice president Shahidul Alam, BFUJ joint Secretary general Kazi Mohsin and CUJ General Secretary Hasan Ferdous. Vice President Mohammad Ali, General secretary of Chattogram Press Club Chowdhury Farid and joint secretary of CUJ Sabur Shuvo.
