Speakers at a view-exchange meeting on “The role of journalists to ensure social safety for infants and women” said journalists can play important role reflecting in the media the negative approach still present in the society towards children and women. Journalists have wider opportunities to create public opinion on the necessity of launching social movement to say ‘No’ to the violence against children and women, and say ‘Yes’ to woman’s empowerment and children’s rights, they said.
Jonouddug Netrakona, a local voluntary organization, arranged the meeting at Netrakona press club on Sunday .
Superintendent of Police Joydeb Chowdhury addressed the meeting as the chief guest while prominent physician Dr. MA Hamid chaired.
