A human chine has formed at Zero Point protesting police torture on Rajshahi Press Club General Secretary Saidur Rahman on Wednesday evening.
Journalists from different electronic and print media attended the human chain and rally.
The speakers strongly condemned the torture of journalist Saidur Rahaman and demanded exemplary punishment to responsible police officers.
On the other hand, SI Mahabub beat up and used fictitious language with Rajshahi Press Club General Secretary Sayidur Rahman. Later, police took him to Rajpara Police Station.
It is learnt that, on Wednesday, Rajshahi Press Club General Secretary Saidur Rahman was going to Kahihata area of the city.
As soon as he came to know, SI Mahabub of Rajpara Police station was abusing him in filthy language. At one stage, he was beaten by the police and took him to the police station. Later, members of the Rajshahi Press Club got him out of the police station.
