The High Court yesterday gave interim bails in six cases to BNP chairperson’s adviser and journalist Shawkat Mahmud.
The High Court division bench comprising Justice Md Rezaul Haque and Justice Md Khasruzzaman passed the order, granting
the accused bails in six subversion cases.
Alongside allowing him interim bails, the court also issued rule asking why Shawkat shall not be granted regular bails in these cases. Of the six cases, three were lodged with Mugda, Motijheel and Lalbagh Police Stations and the other three were lodged with Paltan Police Station.
