A press conference in Chittagong Press Club arranged by Tigerpass Samaj Kallayn Samity , Chittagong blasted the false and fabricated allegations of so-called Chhatra League activist Md. Mamun .
Mamun , a Chhatra League activist on Monday last presented a series of false and motivated statement through arranging a press meet against the Acting Editor of Dainik Surjodoy, Dhaka and Secretary of Tigerpass Samaj Kaylan Samity, Chittagong before the journalists saying that Shahidul Islam Shamim and his accomplices physically beaten him on December 18 last .
In protest of the said press conference of BCL cadre Mamun , Surjodoy Journalist Shamim arranged counter press meet at same venue yesterday against the false and motivated statement of Mamun.
The press meet was told that the so-called BCL leader undermined the reputations and carriers of Shahidul Islam Mamun with heinous motive and being imbued with the vested quarters.
Sources said Shamim beside journalist profession, he is involved with the different social and human activities in the Tigerpass and Ambagan area in city.
The press meet further told that the statement of Mamun and his family members is totally untrue and baseless and said Mamun is involved with the drug business in Tigerpass and Ambagan area since long.
President of Tigerpass Central Jame Mosque Alhaj Abul Kalam read out the written statement before the mediamen.
Among others, General secretary of Tiger Pass Samity Rakib Khan, , leaders of Bebasaye Samity Md. Selim, Md. Ismail and former President of the Samity Sirajul Islam Raju were present in the dais.
