Journo Santosh’s last ritual held

Last ritual of senior journalist Santosh Mondol, who died of a massive heart attack in New York on Monday last, was held at Postogola crematorium in the city on Friday.
Earlier his body was flown to Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport from the USA in the morning. Then the body was taken to Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) premises at Segunbagicha at about midday where thousands of his colleagues, friends and admirers under different journalists’ organizations paid their last tribute to him.
Wreaths were placed on Mondol’s coffin on behalf of Bangladesh Federal Journalists Union (BFUJ), Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ), DRU, Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB), Khulna Divisional Journalist Forum Dhaka -based Patuakhali Journalist Forum (PJF) and the office of Inspector General of Police and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Columnist and writer Syed Abul Maksud, Secretary General of BFUJ Omar Faruk, former BFUJ Secretary General Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan, Deputy Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Ashraful Alam Khokon, DUJ General Secretary Sohel Haidar Chowdhury, BFUJ Treasurer Madhusudan Mandal, former BFUJ Treasurer Khairuzzaman Kamal, DRU President Jamal Uddin and General Secretary Raju Ahmed,
among others, paid their last tributes to Santosh Mondol.
