Saiful Islam Talukder, the joint secretary general of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and a special correspondent of the daily ‘Amader Samoy’ died of cardiac arrest on Saturday night. He was 56.
Saiful breathed his last at his Gopibagh residence in the capital at about 11 pm.
He left behind his wife, one son, three daughters, a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock at the death of Saiful Islam.
He was laid to eternal rest at his family graveyard in Chandpur on Sunday.
Earlier, his two namaj-e-jnazas were held on the premises of the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) and Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU).
