Journo Raisul Haq passes away

Veteran journalist and freedom fighter AKM Raisul Haq Bahar, passed away at a hospital in the port city on Tuesday night.
He was 66.
Raisul Haq, assistant editor of Dainik Purbakon, breathed his last due to cardiac arrest at Max Hospital around 11 pm, said Reaz Haider Chowdhury, president of Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ).
He left behind his wife, two children and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
Raisul was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday following chest pain.
The body of Raisul will be kept at the Central Shaheed Minar around 11 am Wednesday where people from all walks of life will pay tribute to the veteran journalist.
Raisul Haq, also the member of CUJ will be buried after a namaz-e-janazain the afternoon.
He was the bureau chief of The Daily Star, Chattogram and also served as the assistant editor to Daily Suprabhat Bangladesh.
Born in April 1952, the journalist joined in Chattogram Port Authority in 1969.
Chattogram Press Club President Kalim Sarwar and its General Secretary Shuklal Das, President of Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) Nazim Uddin Shyamol, General Secretary Hasan Ferdous expressed deep shock at the demise of the senior journalist.
