Obaidur Rahman, an elderly journalist and Bureau chief of the Daily Khobor, died of prolonged illness at a city hospital on Tuesday morning.
He was 65, family and hospital sources said.
He left behind his wife, four sons including Ahmedur Rahman Shaown, a staff-reporter of the Daily Khobor, and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death. His first Namaj-e-Janaza was held in city’s Katalganj residential area after Zuhr prayers and was buried at his family graveyard at Dholoi village under Hathazari upazila of the district following a second Namaj-e-Janaza after Asr prayer.
