The reminiscence and doa mahfil of late Moslem Khan was held in port city at press club auditorium recently with Journalist SM Jamaluddin in the chair. Late Moslem khan was the Editor of Dainik Deshier Katha, former senior vice president of Ctg Press Club, former Vice President of Chittagong Newspapers Council, advisor of Swadhin Sangbadpatra Patak Samity who expired on April 16 at a city clinic due to old age complications. He was 76.
He left behind wife, 3 sons, 3 daughters and huge numbers of relatives to mourn his death. He was buried at Chittagong Journalists Housing society graveyard in city after Asar prayer. In the doa mahfil , SM Abul Kalam, the newly appointed Ambassador to Kuwait graced it as chief guest. Former President of Chittagong Club Dr Dr. Moinul Islam Mahmud was present in it as special guest.
General secretary of Chittagong Newspapers Council and Chairman of Chittagong Journalist Housing society Moinuddin Quaderi Showkat was the principal speaker on the occasion. Organising Secretary of Sangbadpatra Patak Samity Journalist Md. Nazimuddin conducted the discussion meet.
Among others in the reminiscence, Editor of Nayabangla ZM Enayetullah Hiro, daughter of the demise Selina Shamim Munni (AVP of UCBL Bank , former vice president of BFUJ Jahidul Karim Kochi, Tax lawyer Md. Amir Hossain, journalist Giasuddin chy Kusum, and other senior journalists were also present in the reminiscene and doa mahfil.
The principal discussant in his brief address said Moslem Khan played the vital role to sustain the status and rights of the journalists during his life tenure. Late Moslem khan inspired the new generation journalists to dedicate themselves for the welfare of the society and objective journalism . Journo SM Jamaluddin conclude the meet with thanks to all participants paying respects to the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
