Journalist Mahfuzul Haque Khan, former news editor of defunct daily Bangladesh Observer, passed away due to old
age complications at a hospital in the city on Tuesday. He was 70.
Mahfuzul Haque breathed his last around 11:45 am at city’s Square Hospital. He left behind his wife, one son and daughter and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
The Managing Committee of Jatiya Press Club expressed deep shock at the death of Mahfuzul. In a message, Quamrul Islam Chowdhury, general secretary of National Press Club, said the nation lost a great journalist and a true trade unionist. He also conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
