Prominent journalist, columnist and researcher Hossain Mahmud (64), has breathed his last on Saturday at 9.30 am. at the ICU of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University Hospital, Dhaka. He has been suffering from lungs and pancreas infection .
After Asr prayer, his Namaj-e-Janaza was held at a city mosque on Saturday. Journalists, litterateurs and well-wishers including Zakir Hossain Emon, President, Dhaka Sub Editors’ Council attended the Janaza. He has been buried in the Shahjahanpur graveyard in the city.
A leading journalist Hossain Mahmud was the grandson of Syed Ismail Hossain Shirazi. He was the Editor of Sabuj Pata, Islamic Foundation, Dhaka. He served as a Senior journalist in the Daily Inqilab. He left behind his wife, one daughter, one son and a large number of well-wishers to mourn his death.
