Journo Golam Sarwar passes away

Daily Samakal Editor and President of the Editors Council, Golam Sarwar, is no more.
He was 75. He passed away on Monday night at Singapore General Hospital.He was suffering from cardiac diseases and lung complications.
Golam Sarwar a prominent journalist of the country breathed his last at the hospital around 9:25pm (Bangladesh time).
Earlier on July 29, Golam Sarwar was admitted to Labaid hospital in Dhaka following a heart attack. Later, he was taken to Singapore General Hospital for better treatment.
He left behind wife, two sons, a daughter and lots of relatives and colleague to morn his death.
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina condoled the death.
Journalist Golam Sarwar was born on April 1, 1943 at Banaripara in Barishal. He also served as chairman of the board of directors of Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB), obtained his Master’s degree in Bangla literature with honours from Dhaka University. He started his carrier as a journalist in 1963.
