Presenter of ATN News television channel Mohammad Asaduzzaman received death threats from unknown people in last few months.
A such he filed a General Dairy (GD) with Paltan Model Police Station on October 11, 2018.
According to the GD, unidentified persons threatened him over telephone saying that all his activities were being monitored and he would face
the consequences at an appropriate time.
Alarmed by threats he has requested the police department for taking necessary steps in this regard.
In a statement, General Secretary of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo had expressed concern over the death threats given to Mohammad Asaduzzaman and hoped that the law enforcing agencies would ensure his safety and security.
Mohammad Asaduzzaman was an Executive Committee Member of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU), Finance Secretary of Dhaka University Journalists’ Association (DUJA) and a Member of Economic Reporters’ Forum (ERF).
He earlier worked for different prestigious newspapers such as The Financial Express, and Daily Prothom Alo.
