Senior journalist and BSS city editor Shamsul Alam Bhuiyan Belal has returned home as doctors successfully performed upon him a critical cardiac surgery at the capital’s Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital, doctors and family sources said on Sunday.
They said Belal was admitted to the facility on September 1 following a severe heart attack but it took for the doctors more than a month for the surgical intervention in two phases due to his health condition.
Professor Dr Masum Siraj performed the surgery while Belal was under the supervision of Professor Dr Rezaul Karim.
Belal expressed his gratitude to the Almighty for his successful surgery and sought blessings from his colleagues, friends and relatives for his quick recovery.
