A journalist was beaten again at Chittagong University by alleged Chhatra League activist on Friday night at CU bound shuttle train, while he was headed for campus, leaving office.
The victim was Joy Dash, CU Correspondent of the local daily ‘Priyo Chhattagram’ and a general member of Chittagong University Journalists’ Association; he is a third year student of communication and journalism department.
According the victims and eye witness, a chhatra League activist named Faruqe, a 2013-14 session student of History department beaten Joy Dash at CU bound Shuttle train at cantonment area, while Joy denied leaving the seat and protested the illegal misdoings continuing by the Chhatra League activists for long.
Faruq is an activist of BCL CU Unit General Secretary HM Fazle Rabbi Sujon’s group and a boggi member of Bijoy group. Fazle Rabbi Sujon said, I am just informed about the matter and after scrutiny action will be taken against the involved.
Meanwhile, Chittagong University Journalists’ Association president Abu Bakar Siddique Rahat said, we are preparing to file allegation to the administration for the attacker’s suspension.
Earlier, Chhatrafront General Secretary was also beaten by Bijoy group activists few days ago, and none was got penalty connecting the incidents.
