A journalist was allegedly beaten again at Chittagong University by a Chhatra League activist on Friday night nearing to the Amanat Hall, while protesting the threats comes from BCL activist Mizan
The victim was Shariful Islam, a correspondent of the English daily, `The New Age’ and a master’s student of communication and journalism department.
According the victims and eye witness, Chhatra League activist Mizan along with 10-12 BCL activists, boggi members of BCL Concord group, having wishes from city mayor AJM Nasir Uddin attacked Sharif in front of Amanat Hall while he was protesting the provocative speech.
Sharif told the correspondent that Mizan was slanting provocative speech to the journos and whenever I protested him, he along with some BCL activists attacked on me, leaving injured. However, Mizan denied the matter.
Procotor Ali Azgor Chowdhury said, we were informed about the incident and after scrutiny into the matter we will take action.
