Atiqullah Khan Masud, a noted Editor and Publisher of much circulated Bangla-language newspaper Dainik Janakantha, died at Evercare Hospital in the city on Monday morning. He was 71.
Masud, also a member of Board of Directors of the national news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha was declared dead when he was taken to the hospital at around 5.30am.
He had been suffering from respiratory problem for long.
Masud left behind his wife, two sons, grandchildren, relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
Janakantha was first published in 1993 with Atiqullah Khan Masud as its editor. The newspaper was the first to be printed from multiple locations in the country simultaneously.
