Journo Ali Ashraf passes away

Veteran Journalist Khandker Ali Ashraf died yesterday afternoon at his residence in city’s Uttara.
Family sources said yesterday was his 80th birthday and he has been suffering from old age complications since long.
Ashraf is survived by two sons and host of relatives to mourn his death.
His namaj-e-janaza was held at Uttara Mosque and laid to rest at Uttara grave yard.
Ali Ashraf had spent most of the time of his life as the Assistant Editor of now defunct Dainik Bangla. Later, he joined as Senior Assistant Editor to Daily Jugantor.
 Apart from journalism, he worked as part-time teacher at the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism in Dhaka University. He wrote several books on newspapers of Bangladesh and journalism.
