The journey of new medical college named Army Medical College begins in the port city of Chittagong from yesterday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the journey of the new medical college through video conference yesterday morning. In her inaugural address PM said to mitigate the medicare crisis, a number of new medical colleges will be opened in different districts and one medical university wll be established in each divisions very shortly.
In the inaugural ceremony of the Army Medical college, Water resources Minister Anisul Isla m Mahmud MP, state minister for Land Saifuzzaman chowdhury MP, Dr. Abu Reza Mohammad Nezamuddin Nadvi MP, Mostafizur Rahman MPl, Sabiha Musa MP, GOC Maj. Gen. Sabbir Ahmed and Principal of the college Imaduddin were present. The medical college was established over 30 acres of land on Ctg-Bhatiari road under Hathazari Upazila within the area of Ctg cantonment .
In first base 50 students were admitted in it . The medical college will be enriched with 500 beds in the adjoining hospital, sources said.
