Bangladesh Journalists’ Foundation For Consumers & Investors (BJFCI) has taken some programmes to boost economic growth promoting financial inclusion in collaboration with bankers and fintech operators.
As part of initiatives, BJFCI will introduce a Smart Consumers Building program and organize a Dialogue of CEOs of leading bankers and fintech firms through a Special Publication followed by a dialogue.
CEOs of at least 10 leading banks and Fintech firms are participating in the dialogue through publication of The Bangladesh Express which would be followed by a Discussion Event in participation of industry experts, regulators & policy makers to be held in the city on Thursday last.
The decisions were made at the meeting of BJFCI National Organising Committee on Thursday held at National Press Club with its Chairman Faruk Ahmed in the chair.
The meeting observed that the banking ecosystem is in a state of transformation & a good number of banks are delivering banking services to consumers living in remote areas in collaboration with fintech operators that has brought millions of unbanked people in to mainstream economy.
Both banks and fintech now understand that collaboration is a win-win situation, but the path is far from simple due to differing cultures and an ever-changing compliance field. Regular dialogue between bankers and fintech operators and financial literacy programs can minimize the gap to boost financial inclusion. Here, responsible journalism can play vital role.
