Members of the journalist community on Saturday arranged a Sarbo Dharmio (interfaith) prayer here seeking eternal peace of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman marking his 40th anniversary of martyrdom.
Apart from a large number of newsmen, members of the civil society and professional bodies took part in the prayer held at the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) here.
Alhaz Hafez Moulana Ziaul Hasan recited from the holy Quran, Engineer Manash Kumar Mitra from the holy Geeta, Father Benjamin Costa from the Bible and Kalit Bhikshu (venerable) of Dharmarajik Bouddha Mohabihar, Kamalapur from the Tripitaka.
After the recitation from the holy books, a special prayer was offered seeking the eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his family members and others assassinated on the fateful night of August 15, 1975.
