Journalists demand 9th Wage Board

The leaders of journalist community demanded to declare the 9th wages board in the news paper immediately. They threatened that if the minister concerned does not declare the 9th Wages Board immediately and tries to make conspiracy against the journalist community, the Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) would declare continuous movement.
 The CUJ held a protest rally at Chittagong press Club premises in the morning. President of BFUJ Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul was present at the rally as chief guest while the secretary general of BFUJ Omar Faruk present at the function as special guest. Addressing the rally, President of BFUJ Manjurul Ahasan Bulbul alleged that the minister is violating the direction of Prime Minister in declaring the 9th wages board for journalist.
Leaders of journalist’s community expressed dissatisfaction over the role of the information minister and said that where the prime Minister is interested to declare the 9th wage board for journalists, the information minister is conspiring against the journalist community by delaying.
The leaders of journalist’s community also demanded to stop all types of conspiracy against the Journalists.
In the meeting, the leaders of the journalist’s community urged the government to take steps against those newspaper authorities who denied to implement the 8th wages board and declare the new wage board for journalist.
President of CUJ Reaj Hyder presided over the meeting.
Among others, General Secretary Mohammad Ali, former presidents of CUJ Shahid Ul Alam, Anjan Sen, General secretary of Chittagong Press Club Shuklal Das, former General secretary Mohshin Chowdhury, joint secretary of BFUJ Tapon Chakraborti, Ratan Kanti Debashish, Faruk Taher, Sayed Abdul Wajed, Nur Uddin Ahmed, Nurul Amin Chowdhury addressed the meeting. Besides, leaders of professionals and political parties also addressed the meeting expressing the solidarity with the demands of journalist’s community.
